Description For Prospective Staff:
Brantwood Camp seeks an LPN or RN to manage its health center. Brantwood is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing low-income and inner-city boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 15 the opportunity to attend summer camp in a small residential setting. The boys and girls experience camp on separate campuses. Following one week of training and orientation the Camp offers 3 16-day sessions throughout the course of the summer. The employment timeline for the full summer is June 19, 2010 through August 22, 2010. Employment options for part of the summer may also be available.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include monitoring the health and wellness of 60 campers and 25 staff, collecting, securing, and dispensing medications, ordering and restocking supplies, maintaining appropriate records and log books, attending to injuries and illnesses as they occur, coordinating health care with local doctors, maintaining the health center in accordance to New Hampshire State Regulations and the American Camp Association Standards, and communicating health-related information to campers, parents, staff, and supervisors.
Facilities
Brantwood’s health center is a modern modular building that was constructed just two summers ago. The living space is bright and comfortable with a separate living area for the nurse and her/his family.
Requirements
Candidates must provide documentation of appropriate nursing license and certifications and have a minimum of two years nursing experience preferably with children. The Camp will pay for the necessary NH License.
Private housing with room for children is provided on campus and tuition is available for children to attend the program.
