Description For Prospective Staff:
Camp Taconic - a prestigious, family-owned and operated, private, sleepaway camp for boys and girls, ages 8-16 - is located on 300 acres in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts.
The staff at Camp Taconic comes from the USA and around the world, including the U.K., Australia, Canada, Poland, Germany, and Russia. Counselors are given room and board, and one day off a week.
Camp Taconic is divided into two sections, Lower Camp (8-10 year-old) and Upper Camp (11-15 year-old). Counselors in Lower Camp are General Counselors, while those in Upper Camp are Specialty Counselors
As a General Counselor, you would live in a cabin with 1-2 other counselors and 8-10 campers, age 7, 8, 9, or 10. During the day, you will accompany the campers to their activities and assist in instruction where you are comfortable and knowledgeable. You will eat meals with your campers and sit with them during special events. You are their parents, their big brothers and sisters, and their teachers over the course of the summer.
As a Specialty Counselor, you would live in a cabin with 1-2 other counselors and 8-12 campers, age 11, 12, 13, 14, or 15. During the day, you will teach in your activity area (having one period free each day), generally with 1-2 other counselors. Like general counselors, you will eat meals with your campers and sit with them during special events. You are their parents, their big brothers and sisters, and their teachers over the course of the summer.

Description For Parents:
Our youngest campers have a structured day in which they travel by bunk to their activities. They are introduced to all we have to offer and as they get older their schedule becomes elective based so that they can choose more of what they love to do.
