Description For Prospective Staff:
Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains just southeast of Hendersonville, NC, Falling Creek Camp offers you a unique opportunity and experience to be a mentor of the highest moral character in the lives of boys’ 6 to 16 years of age. Being a camp counselor is one of the most rewarding, enjoyable jobs you can ever have. The staff is offered the opportunity to teach and facilitate a wide variety of adventure activities as well as athletic sports, swimming, arts and crafts and other non-athletic ventures to build the self-confidence of our campers. Counselors must be able to act as role models in and out of their activity areas in order to provide a positive experience for the campers.
We offer competitive salaries, paid orientation, Counselor Resource program, CPR and Wilderness First Aid Certifications as well as specialty training by some of the leading instructors in the industry. We are now accepting applications for the following counselor positions. All applicants must be at least 19 years of age and has completed 1 year of college. Falling Creek Camp is looking for staff with the following certifications:
RN (Registered Nurse), PA (Physician's Assistant)
Other staffing needs and restrictions:
Our medical staff will supervise the daily health needs of campers and staff and keep Directors informed on the overall health and welfare of the camp community. Nurses will be responsible to perform the following basic functions:
• caring for ill or injured patients who are admitted to the Health Center;
• handling “health calls†throughout the day;
• parent communication when camper spends the night in the health center;
• making appointments when needed with local doctors, dentists and orthodontists;
• sorting and dispensing medication to campers;
• responding to any “emergency†which may arise at camp;
• maintaining health logs for each camper and staff member; and,
• encouraging and promoting health maintenance and accident prevention.
